5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product!, January 9, 2010

Wow - this stuff works! I tried other methods first (something harsh from the hardware store, alcohol, a razor-scraper, laquer thinner). The only one that worked was laquer thinner and the fumes from that about put me out! I tried Bean-e-doo & the mastic just dissolved. It's really weird that this is 100% soy bean product. It has to be some type of chemical reaction, because I got the Bean-e-doo on the paint & it didn't even leave a mark. But the mastic just melted. Best of all - no masks, no worry about dangerous fumes!

Be prepared if you do this - buy squeegees, kitty litter or absorbent, a cheap mop, buckets, garbage bags, rags, & a cheap broom & dustpan. Oh - a wet dry vac for the later part of the cleanup phase was good too.

I did have to apply twice in some areas. Scrubbing with a broom for the 1st 10 minutes seemed to produce much better results, & I did use more than the recommended amount. But all in all this was very much worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bean-e-doo works great, December 7, 2009

We used Bean-e-doo to remove black asbestos mastic from our concrete basement floor. The mastic was probably on there for 50+ years. We poured it on, spread it around with a broom, and left it for a few hours. When we came back most of the mastic was the consistency of old motor oil, which we squeegeed to one spot and soaked up with kitty litter. Some spots needed a second treatment, but we were very pleased with the results. We used soapy water to clean up and have no oily reside, but it did require several moppings.

I suggest that you order a little more than you think you need. We didn't order enough and used another product purchased at a local hardware store. It was far less effective than the Bean-e-doo (but gave us something to compare to).

We used this product on our basement floor (concrete) to remove very old mastic. After one (two in some areas) application, the mastic came up. We then used Emerge d-greaser (from same company) to clean it up. The products worked beautifully. The best thing about this is the lack of harsh chemicals and chemical odors. There is a slight bean odor, but that goes away after airing out.
