When I was done installing 12in. ceramic tile on job I was working on, I noticed that in many areas the mortar had filled in the grout joints. I used my Dremel Multi-Max with the 1/8-in. carbide grout blade. It performed great. It removed everything much faster than using a grout remover hand tool. One thing to be careful of is that if you don't have the blade perfectly square with the tile you can chip the face. Take your time and keep your hands steady.

I respect Dremel tools and their accessories. They have held up well even when used hard. I got the Dremel Multi-Max for Christmas two years ago. I re-grouted the tile in our kitchen this past year and I would have given up if not for the 1/8-inch Carbide Grout Blade. Our kitchen tile is the 4", so there was a lot of grout lines. I used up a 2 of the 1/8" blades. Amazon's price beat both Lowe's and Home Depot. Any one who cares to compare Fein or Rockwell blades has to remember that, yes, they may last longer. I can buy almost THREE of these blades for one of theirs. Fein Thick Carbide Blade, 63502128015

Used to remove the grout from an area with approx. 1/2" joints. It was so easy and relatively clean. It would be so easy to use this on smaller joints to just take out the top portion in order to "regrout". This would give your entire kitchen a makeover (could even go back with epoxy stain resistant grout for easy care). Love this tool all together - so handy during my wood floor installation. Wished I would have bought it earlier in the project.
